This smoky black tea boasts beautiful leaves and a smooth, full-bodied flavour infused with the aroma of rare Chinese pine. A generous daytime tea that is perfect with a savoury meal.
Lapsang souchong, literally: "sub-variety from Lapu Mountain" is a black tea (Camellia sinensis) originally from the Wuyi region of the Chinese province of Fujian. It is more commonly named Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong in Mandarin and it is sometimes referred to as smoked tea. Lapsang is distinct from all other types of tea because lapsang leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, taking on a distinctive smoky flavour.
Our gold award Lapsang Souchong is made with very high quality organic raw materials. As you can see from the dry leaves, the twisted leaves retain their color variations, from deepest black to gold. Different from other common Lapsangs made with leaves only, we use selected slender leaves with a lot of golden tea buds. This tea has the perfect amount of smoky quality too, the smokiness is thick and pungent, but not harsh at all. Breathe more deeply, and you'll find a caramel-like sweetness, almost as though the leaves had been soaked in simple syrup before smoking. There is also a pleasant earthy, almost dusty note. The immediate experience of smokiness, when combined with the notes of pine that come through, creates a full flavor that lingers with you the way those family memories do.
The liquor is very bright and clean, it has a almost crystal-clear golden-coppery liquor which indicates it is a top quality black tea. It has a refreshing smoky aroma. The flavor is initially all sweet and smooth black tea, but the rich smoke flavor quickly follows, clinging to the teeth and inside the lips, and the fragrance will fill your mouth and nostrils. At the very end of the flavor spectrum there will be a surprising and lingering salty note, and then a very smooth finish. You can feel a sweet, malty flavour present from beginning to end of the sip.
Are you looking for a very well banlanced smoked tea with high quality? No need to look elsewhere, this is YOUR perfect tea, a gold standard, solid Lapsang offering that will not disappoint! We recommend coffee drinkers to start with this tea, our gold award Lapsang makes memories, especially for first-timers. It has a nice balance between black and pine, fans of Chinese black teas should not miss it, a 100% customer statisfaction product with money back guanrantee!

10 Types Assorted Famouse Chinese Black Tea 10g each
100g
Black tea is a variety of tea that is more oxidized than the oolong, green, and white varieties. All four varieties are made from leaves of the shrub (or small tree) Camellia sinensis. Black tea is generally stronger in flavor and contains more caffeine than the less oxidized teas. Black tea's caffeine is approximately 3 %, which is the highest of all the different kinds of tea, but still lower than coffee. While green tea usually loses its flavor within a year, black tea retains its flavour for several years.
To make black tea, the first step after plucking the leaves is to let them wither. Then there are three additional processing steps that the leaves are subjected to before becoming black tea. They are rolled, allowed to fully oxidize (ferment), and lastly they are dried. Also note, that after rolling, they are also sifted to separate the different leaf / leaf particle sizes.

- Rolling - The purpose of this step is to actually break open the surface of the leaves. This allows the remaining moisture, sap, if you will, in the leaves to escape and coat the surface of the leaves. This sap is what contains the polyphenols (formerly known as "tannins").
- Oxidation - When exposed to the air (oxygen) and under controlled conditions of heat and humidity, some of the polyphenols are oxidized ("fermented") by an enzyme called polyphenol oxidase. These then combine with other poyphenols to form compounds called theaflavins, which gives the leaves a bright coppery red color. Likewise, the theaflavins react with other compounds to form thearubigins. These ultimately render the leaves their final dark brown / black color. The theaflavins are associated with the "brisk" flavor and brightness of black tea, whereas the tea's strength and color are attributed to the thearubigins. At the completion of the oxidation (usually a few hours), the aroma of the leaves also changes from a "leafy" smell to a "fruity" one.
- Drying / Firing - Finally they are dried / fired, which stops the oxidation process. It also turns the leaves to their characteristic black color.
- Healthy Heart - Another way the elements in all sorts of teas work for your body is in promoting good heart health. Similar studies show black and green teas as preventing some kinds of arterial damage.
- Strong Bones - Research has shown that people who drink black tea on a regular basis have a greater bone density than those who do not. For this reason, one of the other benefits of black tea may be the offset of osteoporosis and relief from arthritis.
- Caffeine - Because of the production of black tea, it is highest among all other tea types in caffeine levels. Caffeine stimulates brain function and infuses the body with energy. Metabolism is boosted and this helps dieters to lose weight.
- Cancer Inhibitor - Because of its antioxidants, the use of black tea and other tea varieties has been linked to a lower risk of certain cancers, including skin cancer, as well as a lesser risk of diabetes.

GABA Black TeaGABA is an anti-stress and anti-anxiety nutrient.
GABA tea is valued for its many health benefits. Sweet, malty, silky smooth.
GABA is an amino acid that is produced by the human body. GABA stands for Gamma-aminobutyric acid. Its main function is to inhibit the firing of neurons in the brain. Because of this inhibitory function, GABA sends messages to the brain, spinal cord, heart, lungs, and kidneys to slow down. This means that GABA is an anti-stress, anti-anxiety, calming and relaxing nutrient. It has been used clinically for depressed sex drive, prostate problems, and as a non-addictive tranquilizer substitute. GABA tea is an all-natural source of GABA. It was discovered more than 20 years ago by Japanese researchers looking for a natural method to preserve food. They discovered that tea which is oxidized in a nitrogen-rich atmosphere has a higher concentration of GABA elements than any other type of tea. Oxidation refers to exposing tea leaves to the air after they have been picked. Black tea is 100% oxidized, while wu long tea is partially oxidized. Green tea is unoxidized - it is dried as soon as possible after picking. GABA tea production involves exposing fresh tea leaves to nitrogen instead of oxygen. The fresh tea is placed in stainless steel vacuum drums and the oxygen is removed and replaced with nitrogen. The tea leaves are exposed to this nitrogen-rich atmosphere for about 8 hours. The temperature must be kept above 40 degrees Celsius for the duration of the processing. This procedure produces the highest concentrations of natural GABA. Since that time GABA tea has become a staple in the Japanese diet. It is a refreshing beverage that is consumed by people of all ages. GABA tea is valued for its many health benefits which include:

This Black Bi Luo Chun is a black tea with a twist -- it's made from the same tea leaves used to make one of China's most famous green teas, Biluochun, known as Green Snail Spring. It has a bright, almost woody tea taste that black tea drinkers will delight in. A good tea to wake up with in the morning. Grown on Dongting mountain, the high elevations and cool mist there provide a nurturing environment for growing some of the best teas in the world; the most famous tea of which in this area is (green) Bi Luo Chun (which we also carry).
The leaves are tender and twisted, with many golden tips sprinkled among the dark brownish black leaves. Dry, they smell of tobacco, fresh hay, bittersweet chocolate, and spice. The cup is a deep coppery red and has a sweet fragrance. Many black teas have a very flat aroma, but not this one. The taste is smooth, rich, mouth filling and has depth. The mouthfeel of this tea is very smooth, and mellow. The flavor reminds you of pepper, fruit and malt or carmalized sugar. The fragrance lingers on the back of the tongue between sips. It also takes cream or milk well, mellowing rather than being masked in flavor. It is also very good iced.
