Purification
Smudging is to purify with smoke.
- This becomes a part of ones life quite naturally once you take the first step.
It feels great and you will see why - the space is free of old baggage and negative energies that may have saturated a living space, person or object threw the processes of negative thinking, over thinking, emotional responses, Black magic, ect.
As you gain experience with the act of purification you will start to become sensitized to your environment - knowing what is contained within a space, person or object - whether it be resentment, guilt, love, anger, hate, fear, ect.
A free space will feel empty and peaceful - it will allow your creative expression to better express itself, threw the higher vibrational frequency that can be more easily attained threw a space free of lingering emotional energy; A sacred space that is brimming with the love of mother earth.
Note on Smudging (Purification):
We do not want to blow the flame from the lit herbs out with our breath instead we use feathers or our hand to fan the smoke. As its been told that to blow the herb will blow the spirit out of the plant.
White Sage:
Ceremonial White Sage is used for clearing the space of negative energies/emotions. Used for purifying a space, person or object.
White sage has a great smell and effect.
The smell is hard to describe but it warms the soul with its aromas.
The effects are quite clear - uplifting, energizing, relaxing, smooth, thick smoke fills the space purifying and clearing the space of unseen but tangibly felt debris.
If allowed to inhale it enters the lungs gently, cleansing the energy systems of the person.
Some Shamans would smoke white sage..
*Does not irritate the lungs* - In fact quite surprisingly it feels refreshing to inhale. Smooth.
Smudging Sage also kills germs and microbes making it great for cleaning on more than just one level.
When the smoke clears your space is now a sacred space with a feeling of freedom, clarity, and refreshment. With a wonderful lingering sage smell that naturally deodorizes stinky smells!

Juniper:
Juniper smells really good, like a Christmas tree in many ways but with more essential oils making it slightly fruity and very refreshing, like a fresh mountain breeze .
It is so full of oils and terpens that when you hold a flame to it it bursts into flames which must be blown out with a feather to stop it from burning to ash (since we want smoke not fire).
Juniper also purifies the space, person or object of evils (or obstructions) that linger in the space, person or object in question.
Clearing our space becomes very fulfilling the more we do it as we begin to notice differences that makes it a "must have".
-To clear or purify our space of lingering emotions that may have saturated the space, is to start a-new - to start fresh. And it feels good!
A clear, higher vibration space becomes sacred to ourselves and to others who arrive. The space emanates nothing yet it is full of this nothing-ness. This form within empty-ness and empty-ness within form becomes the world your silence witnesses.
The space feels clear, clean and free. And these tangibly felt feelings of nothing-ness allows one to be who they are without obstructions or influences that keep drawing one back into the lingering emotions, feelings, vibrations or behavior patterns that have been absorbed and saturated into the living environment or space.
In essence it fills you with a sense of freedom, Every breath... Like that of being on a mountain top in winter smelling the cold winter winds that strangely smell of flowers and trees. The purity of life... ahhh!
